SARAJEVO, 25. JAN. 2016 – Fahrudin Radoncic, head of the Union for a Better Future of Bosnia and Herzegovina (B-H) and owner of the Sarajevo daily Dnevni Avaz, was arrested and straight away taken to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) for questioning. The Bosnia and Herzegovina Prosecutor’s Office has stated that Radoncic has been arrested for obstructing the work of the judiciary, that is, for pressuring witnesses in a case against narcotics boss Naser Keljmendi, conducted in Bosnia and Kosovo. Keljmendi is suspected of ordering the murder of Sarajevo criminal Ramiz Delalic aka Cela, in the summer of 2007. Union for a Better Future of Bosnia and Herzegovina members Bakir Dautbasic and Bilsena Sahman were arrested earlier and are currently in month-long custody. In a statement, the Union has most severely protested against “the unseen abuse of a legal state by individuals from the judiciary mafia.” The release further said that the Union was fully convinced of Radoncic’s innocence and that it “is an unprecedented political fabrication aimed at destabilizing the Bosniak political factor, and thereby destabilizing Bosnia.”
