SARAJEVO, 05. FEB. 2017 – Bosniak(Muslim) member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic stated that he would fully endorse the representative of Bosnia before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Sakib Softic, in mounting proceedings to review the Bosnian genocide suit against Serbia. The International Court of Justice on 26 of February 2007 rejected the claim filed by Dr. Francis Boyle, an adviser to former Bosniak leader Alija Izetbegovic that Serbia attempted to exterminate the Bosniak (Muslim) population during the Bosnian War. The Court affirmed that “Serbia has not committed genocide; Serbia has not conspired to commit genocide, nor incited the commission of genocide”. Bakir Izetbegovic said Softic should find new evidence or present to the court compiled new evidence and give a statement on renewing the suit against Serbia, media in Sarajevo reported. Izetbegovic, also the leader of the Bosniak(Muslim) Party of Democratic Action, said Softic had received expert, financial, political, moral and every other form of support. He also said Softic should, in the end, reply whether he believes there is a credible position in this context and whether a review can be embarked upon with a good chance for it to be sustained. He also said “no one should get angry or get particularly politically involved.” “We are just seeking justice for what (former Serbian President Slobodan) Milosevic’s regime did 20-odd years ago,” Izetbegovic stressed.
